What happened in March? Well, from random Chick-fil-A milkshake runs to my jeans talking to me. There has been a lot of clarity. There’s been a “going deep quickly with new friends” (per usual). There have also been some scary decisions made that were 100% faith-based. The list goes on, but let me add some context.
On March 20th, I officially hit 30ish days of posting weekly content. I learned a lot. Like a lot, a lot. We have really short attention spans. lol. I feel like we all know that, but it’s worse than what I thought. Learning how to maintain retention while keeping the session’s reels true to the full episode isn’t a task for the faint of heart. I’m not even trying to go viral. I want the right people to find the full episodes. That being said, within these 30+ days, I have had to process a lot of what I am going after creatively. I definitely feel that I am still in the process of figuring that out, but certain things have been decided.
We got to lead worship in the Bay (Home🤍) on Friday the 20th. We brought our little sisters (Justice and Nevaeh Winslow). We ended up staying the weekend in the bay and got to spend time with our family. That was fun. Very filling. We needed it. That weekend, we also got to go to Infusion Church. There was a Bethel ministry team from Redding. We can’t seem to escape them (lol). While there, we got to pray Conrad out to his 4-month ministry trip to India. (Keep him in your prayers.)
Oh! My family came uu to Whiskeytown Lake to camp on a whim, and, you betcha, we were there. It kinda opened up a curiosity for us to go camping more. I mean, I have been camping before. Every summer as a kid, I went to “Campamento” (Summer Camp), and it was a lot of fun. I just have never done it as an adult (18 years+). Now with a whole wife, it’s something that we wanna do more as we do the family thing. Since summer is around the corner, you just might see us out there… with a lot of bug repellent.
We (Bekah and I) dug our heels into new relationships here in Redding. It’s been nice because it feels like a deep level of community we both crave. I have also found someone who is pouring into me (Pastoring). It has been very refreshing to have that in this season.
I have been floored by the way people have received ALTR has been overwhelming. This one comment a viewer left on an ALTR episode in Spanish was… beard watering (Tears). It just kinda sums up how I have felt with how it’s been received.
Back to decisions… The ALTR Prayer Room, and its many different forms, has always been in my heart to do. Now that they are a thing, my heart feels full. However, it’s really hard to release these episodes and work on other projects. For that reason, one of the decisions is to pivot on the ALTR Prayer Room to be released every other week. This will give me more time to create, produce, and release more original music. You know, capacity is a thing that we all have to abide by, and dedicating myself to all these episodes, reels, copy, editing, mixing, etc, without any help is way too much. My main focus this season is going to be building my music catalog. When the time is right, I plan to expand and release more ALTR, but for now it is what it is…
Now, catalog. I am working on releasing Crea En Mí and En Tu Presencia in the middle of May. I will definitely announce the date on social media, but for now, know that it’s in the plans along with other music that is coming sooner than you know.
EP 003 - This session came from a real place for me. I crave things that cuts through the noise and brings me back to Jesus—simple, honest, present. So this ALTR set is exactly that: spontaneous worship, moments of soaking, and space to just sit with Him.
EP 004 - Simply put, This session felt like coming home. I did in black and white because the open window was messing with the color grade. I hate color grading, so go black and white... lol
EP 005 - This one felt really personal. I love leading worship with Bekah. It wasn’t just a set, but it felt like we were reminding our own hearts that He’s been our home the whole time. Not just in moments, but through every season. Love you, babe!
EP 006 - This one was in spanish. Ima be honest, I was scared to do one only in Spanish, so I added a couple songs in English at the beginning. I sprinkle in spanish in the other ones and I've lead worship in spanish, but I don't want to get stuck in the stigma that I only do spanish things. I just gotta get over it.
Merch — I dropped merch in March and haven’t really said anything about it yet. It’s live right now on my website, so you can go grab a piece.
I went with heavier, thicker materials on everything. That’s just what I wear — I like my tees and hoodies to feel substantial, not flimsy. There’s more coming, but this is what’s available right now.
