This month has been amazing. In all honesty, I feel the most aligned I have ever felt in my life. But alignment always comes with a cost.
I recorded the first ALTR Prayer Room on February 6th. It took me three hours to edit the audio: cleaning it up, building templates as I went, and figuring out the flow. It was tedious, but for the first time, it was actually fun.
I was surprised that it actually worked. I can’t tell you guys how long I have been dreaming about this digital prayer room idea. I’ve done a couple of iterations of this in the past, but they never “worked.” I either complained about the gear, or the vibe didn’t feel right, or whatever.
This time around, I didn't care what it felt like or even what it looked like. I care about it being out.
So many times, we as creatives get stuck in our heads because of comparison. It may not feel like comparison in the moment, but the only reason you don’t take a risk is that you don’t want to have to deal with the perceived gap between where you are and where you think you should be. It kills creativity and stunts growth. That’s the cost of alignment: Risk.
It’s really vulnerable to put stuff out there, but if you wanna grow, you need growing pains. You need to stress the muscles. You need risk.
This is the start of building the tool. It’s raw, it’s unfiltered, and it’s finally real.
THE COST OF ALIGNMENT IS RISK
So, we’re moving forward. Episodes 1 and 2 are live, and Episodes 3 & 4 are in the chamber.
Spotify is really annoying. I distributed the podcast to all platforms, but Spotify has an algorithm that, if your podcast doesn’t have any talking, it thinks you’re trying to upload music without paying for royalties. So, this prayer room is being flagged. It’s only on Spotify, not apple podcast. It’s really annoying, and I am trying to figure it out. The 'growing pains' are part of the process, and I’m just grateful to be in the game finally. Thanks for being in the game with me
